Digital Health in the Middle East

In the latest edition of This Week in Digital Health, we sat down with Jalil Allabadi, CEO of Altibbi – the Middle East’s largest digital health platform. With 20 million unique monthly users – Altibbi’s mission is to put accessible, affordable, quality healthcare in the hands of every person in the Arab World. Already operational in seven countries, Altibbi recently closed a heavily oversubscribed $44 million Series B – the largest single financing round for a Middle East Digital Health company.

The first and largest platform in the Arab region that offers telemedicine consultation services, allowing patients to connect directly with doctors via audio calls and chats. Stemming from the fact that there are approximately 400 million people in the Arab World lacking access to essential medical services, Altibbi works diligently to circulate medical content in the Arabic Language via the Internet.

By providing medical information from trusted sources and remote medical consultation services for all Arabic speakers, Altibbi helps patients access medical information and advice, thus reducing the number of unnecessary doctor visits and lessening the pressure on the healthcare system.

Winner of the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship Award and the World Summit Award for best digital content in the health and well-being category.

Jalil Allabadi co-founded Altibbi in 2011 with a mission to provide accessible healthcare to everyone. During the past eight years, Altibbi has grown to become the largest digital health provider in the Arab World with +2 million pages of content, 24/7 Telehealth service in 12 Arab countries, and +500,000 daily users.
