European Digital Health Open Calls


  • The Coast to Capital Growth Grant Programme – now open for SME businesses operating in the West Sussex, Brighton & Hove, East Surrey, Croydon, and Lewes District for at least one year. A total of £3.5m of funding is available to fund capital grant projects of between £40k and £170k. Businesses can apply for up to 40% grant funding towards the cost of equipment/software and other capital items to make them more competitive. The minimum project size is £100,000, meaning the applicant will need to bring 60% (£60,000) in match funding.


  • Health Hub Vienna – Our program currently consists of four “Sprint Workshops.” The program runs 100 days (start March 2020) and takes place in Vienna.  Mostly remote, subsidies for travel expenses available.   • Novartis Cancer Startup Program – The selected startups will enter the acceleration program supported and monitored by a group of high-level mentors from Novartis and the Conector network who will share their experience to support and optimize the development of their business models.  Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain
  • Digital Innovation Challenge for SMEs and European startups by the European Commission. Imagine new services based on open and reusable solutions provided by the European Commission to grow your business and contribute to shaping a Digital Europe.


  • EIT Jumpstarter 2020 – one of the most well-known European pre-accelerator programs. This year, for the very first time, candidates can submit their innovative ideas in six thematic categories. In addition to the raw materials, healthcare, agri-food, there are three new areas: energy, manufacturing, and urban mobility.
  • CaixaImpulse Validate 2020 – call for life science, medical, and health tech projects. Projects must be related to Life, Medical, and Health Sciences, specifically from the following fields: Life Sciences: Biomathematics, Cell biology, Human Biology, Biochemistry, and Molecular biology, Human physiology, Genetics, Immunology, Microbiology, and Neurosciences. Medical and Health Sciences: Clinical Sciences, Epidemiology, Forensic medicine, Occupational medicine, Internal medicine, Nutritional sciences, Pathology, Pharmacodynamics, Pharmacology, Preventive medicine, Psychiatry, Public health, Surgery, and Toxicology.
  • Public procurement of innovative solutions for patients with bradycardiasThe RITMOCORE consortium – four hospitals and hospital foundations in Spain and the UK – invites interested bidders to submit offers to their public procurement of innovative solutions (PPI). This PPI aims to deploy innovative and more efficient service provisioning for patients with bradycardias and implantable pacemakers. The care model is based on personalized arrhythmia treatment, remote monitoring, coordinated care, and patient activation.
  • CRAASH Barcelona is looking for projects and start-ups to join the second edition of a boot camp that focuses on validating business models in the European markets of Barcelona, Paris, and Delft and the US market of Boston. Participants should be part of a medical device, diagnosis, or digital health project from any European ecosystem looking to bring their product closer to the patient. The program is mostly web-based, but the travel to four on-site events will allow participants to build their network and evolve their solution. Any team of three people with a technical lead, an entrepreneurial lead, and a clinical lead with technology readiness level 3 or 4 (proof of concept or proof of feasibility) can apply.   • IMI2 – Call 20Cancer, tuberculosis, and vaccines in new IMI Call for proposals with a total budget of EUR 273 million.
  • Lab4pymes, the Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M) program, for small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) have their registered office and work center located in the Community of Madrid. An active 6-month innovation program in which UC3M makes eleven technologies available to SMEs in four areas of knowledge drives innovation and business competitiveness. The objective is to help them develop new products and services based on their technological assets and knowledge.

  • BStartup10 – opens its call for entries for the 3rd Edition of BStartup Health to support projects in the health sector in pre-seed and seed stages. When the importance of science and research is becoming extremely apparent, this edition’s investment aims to validate technology/research and business; therefore, three projects will be selected from all those submitted in Spain.
  • UNICEFLab COVID19 – an open innovation platform (targeted to the Spanish ecosystem, the Spanish) program. UNICEF Spain and ISDI created an Open Social Innovation Platform to identify Challenges and support Projects for children, adolescents, and families in Spain in 2020.


  • HealthCare Lab – CEE-based acceleration program supporting digital healthcare ventures brings ground-breaking innovations in healthcare to the market faster. 
  • TecnoCampus, with the support of ACCIÓ, is launching TecnoCampus StartHealth, an acceleration program for projects with high growth potential in the health sector. The program offers support in the validation of the technology and the business model in the launch of the product in the market and the access to financing to accelerate its growth.

  • DigitalHealth.London’s Accelerator – Now in its fifth consecutive year, the DigitalHealth.London Accelerator works with up to 20 high potential SMEs over a 12-month period, giving bespoke support and advice, a program of expert-led workshops and events, and brokering meaningful connections between innovators and NHS organizations with specific challenges.
  • Greater Manchester Future of Health Challenge in partnership with Novartis – A 12-week program where startups are required to attend one day per week.   • DIGI-B-CUBE – the project launched an open call to support projects focusing on integrating digital innovations and disruptive technologies across the Medical Diagnostics and related value chains.   • Women Startup Challenge Europe HealthTech – Launched in partnership with Craig Newmark, founder of craigslist and Craig Newmark Philanthropies, the Women Startup Challenge is on a mission to close the funding gap and shake up a culture and economy that’s made it exceedingly difficult for women to launch startups and raise capital.
